This Sunday, the second femicide of the year was recorded in Yucatán in a case where the alleged perpetrator committed suicide after attacking his partner and her stepdaughters.
According to reports from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the events occurred in the Real Montejo subdivision, where the man allegedly sexually assaulted his 14-year-old stepdaughter, which led to an altercation with his partner.
The man murdered the woman, stabbed her two daughters, ages 14 and 8, and then committed suicide.
“Agents from the agency assigned to the State Investigative Police (PEI) are conducting the investigation to clarify the facts,” the SSP shared.
Unofficial sources reported that one of the injured girls is in serious condition.
This is the second femicide of the year after the one recorded in March when a man murdered a 3-year-old girl, who was his stepdaughter, in the municipality of Tecoh.
