The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has scheduled a power outage that will affect several neighborhoods in Cancún this Monday, May 25. The power company stated that maintenance and improvement work will be carried out on the Quintana Roo electrical grid.

Why is there a power outage in Cancún?

The CFE reported that today’s power outage is due to preventive maintenance and modernization of electrical infrastructure. This work aims to reinforce the supply in different areas of Cancún in response to the increased energy demand registered in recent weeks.

The work includes the inspection of transformers, distribution lines, and connections that require temporary service interruptions to ensure the safety of technical personnel.
