For Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, this initiative has established itself as an act of social justice and inclusion on behalf of vulnerable groups, with the aim of improving the quality of life in the state’s most densely populated areas—regions where there is a strong demand for efficient, modern, comfortable, and safe transportation services.

Free Travel Scheme

Official data reveal that, of the total trips recorded during this period, 30,805,233 were cost-free trips, while 30,593,311 were free transfers; this means that beneficiaries incurred no additional costs when utilizing the interconnections between the system’s various lines. This program—featuring free fares and complimentary transfers—serves as a tool to support the household economies of vulnerable groups, while also fostering equal opportunities for residents of the State of Mexico in municipalities such as:

Ecatepec
Tecámac
Zumpango
Nezahualcóyotl
Chimalhuacán
Chicoloapan
Coacalco
Cuautitlán Izcalli
Tultitlán
Tlalnepantla

Furthermore, the Government of the State of Mexico is advancing infrastructure projects with a strong focus on human welfare—including Line V of the Mexibús system. This line will connect Lechería with the El Rosario Metro station in Mexico City, benefiting over 137,000 users from Naucalpan, Tlalnepantla, Cuautitlán Izcalli, and Tultitlán, as well as from the Azcapotzalco borough.
