Los Cabos will become home to Baja California Sur’s first immersive museum, a project focused on the natural wealth of the Sea of Cortez, considered one of the most important marine ecosystems on the planet.

The Discovery Center Immersive Museum is scheduled to open on June 9. The facility will offer a technological experience designed to allow visitors to learn about marine biodiversity through state-of-the-art audiovisual resources.

The museum will be entirely dedicated to the Sea of Cortez, which oceanographer Jacques-Yves Cousteau called “the aquarium of the world” due to the vast number of marine species that inhabit its waters.

Carlos Arámburo, director of the Discovery Center Immersive Museum’s experience, explained that the project aims to bring the public closer to this ecosystem through an educational and sensory experience.

“Inside the museum, there will be four rooms with different spaces. The goal is to learn about the biodiversity of one of the world’s most important ecosystems, as well as to promote environmental education,” he stated.

The museum’s four rooms will feature multimedia technology, including laser systems, LED lighting, and immersive screens that will create 360-degree experiences.

According to the organizers, visitors will feel immersed in the marine landscapes of the Sea of Cortez thanks to the realism of the projections and visual effects. The complete tour will last approximately 60 minutes.

The museum will be open Tuesday through Sunday, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Discovery Center Immersive Museum is located in the Cabo San Lucas Marina, within The Place At Cabo development, with a general admission price of approximately 800 pesos.
