Attacks on Maru Campos, Governor of Chihuahua, could strengthen the opposition.

The controversy sparked by the allegations against the Governor of Chihuahua could be producing an effect contrary to what the federal government intended, according to Luis Rubio in his video column.

Rubio argued that the case involving the state leader was thrust into the public discourse alongside that of the Governor of Sinaloa—who is currently on leave—despite the fact that, in his view, the two cases are distinct.

The columnist notes that the accusation against the Governor relates to the alleged involvement of U.S. agents in an operation targeting organized crime, whereas other cases involve alleged ties to criminal groups.

“What do the case of the Governor of Chihuahua and the case of the Governor of Sinaloa—who is on leave—have in common? Nothing. Absolutely nothing,” he asserted.
