For her alleged involvement in the crime of Abuse of Public Office, as defined and penalized by Article 326, Section V, of the Durango State Penal Code, agents of the Investigative Police for Corruption Crimes arrested Claudia Josefina N., who served as Director of Legal and Labor Affairs for the Ministry of Education.

According to the investigation, Claudia Josefina N. officially received materials related to a contract for 8,846,972 pesos, which was intended for the development of a Comprehensive Information System for the Management of Personnel Services software.

However, the now-detained individual improperly concealed this information and documentation by keeping the deliverables under her custody, which were under her public office, out of the institution’s control and access. This prevented the Ministry of Education from using the software.

The accused was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority that issued the warrant for her arrest so that her legal status could be determined in accordance with the law.

In accordance with Article 13 of the National Code of Criminal Procedure, every person is presumed innocent and must be treated as such at all stages of the proceedings, until their guilt is established by a judgment issued by a competent judicial authority.
