Durango State Police confiscate alcoholic beverages at checkpoints near the Coahuila border
Officers from the Durango State Police confiscated alcoholic beverages from drivers at checkpoints located along the border with Coahuila.
The State Public Security Secretariat reported in a statement that these actions were taken to prevent citizens from consuming alcohol while driving.
Officers from the aforementioned agency are present at bridges and other access points near the neighboring state to identify vehicles and people entering or leaving Durango.
The main objective is to detect potentially stolen vehicles, as well as to prevent various types of crime.
It was also announced that the checkpoints are set up at various locations in both urban and rural areas of the city, during both day and night.
The aforementioned actions are part of “Operation Dragon,” which was initially implemented in the city of Durango and was replicated in various municipalities, including those in the La Laguna region.
