Support for Women aged 18 to 64 in the State of Mexico: requirements, dates and step-by-step instructions for registration

59

Women in the State of Mexico who want to learn basic plumbing skills and address water-related problems in their homes can now register for the Women Plumbers 2026 program.

The program combines theoretical and practical training with the delivery of tools, allowing participants to apply these skills to simple household repairs and installations and potentially turn them into a source of income.

What support can participants receive?

The program is part of the State of Mexico Water Secretariat and is focused on teaching basic plumbing skills. During the training, participants will learn about:

  • Installations
  • Repairs and leak detection
  • Key tasks to reduce water waste within the home

According to the program guidelines, beneficiaries will receive a 40-hour theoretical and practical training course as well as a plumbing tool kit. With this support, they will be able to apply what they learn to simple repairs and address common plumbing issues without relying on third parties.

Registration requirements

The program is aimed at women over the age of 18 who are heads of household, reside in the State of Mexico, and live in a home experiencing water leak problems.

Although the program has been referenced for women between the ages of 18 and 64, the official call does not specify a maximum age limit. Instead, it identifies the following groups as eligible applicants:

  • Women living in municipalities experiencing water supply cuts
  • Residents of communities with high or very high levels of marginalization
  • Indigenous women
  • Afro-Mexican women
  • Women living in municipalities with an indigenous presence
  • Repatriated women
  • Victims or affected parties in criminal cases investigated or prosecuted under a gender perspective

Required documents

To submit an application, interested women must have the following documents ready for online, email, or in-person registration:

  • Women Plumbers Program Application Form
  • Birth certificate
  • Valid official identification
  • Unique Population Registry Code (CURP)
  • Proof of address issued within the last three months, or a residency certificate issued by the local authority

Before beginning the application process, it is important to verify that all information matches across the documents, as any discrepancies may delay the review process or the tracking of the application.

How to register

Registration can be completed online through the official website of the State of Mexico Water Secretariat under the Women Plumbers section.

Applicants must provide:

  • Personal information
  • Address
  • CURP
  • Contact information
  • Information related to water conditions and issues in their home

Once registration is completed, the system will generate an application number. Applicants should save this number, as it will be required to track the application and check results when they are published by the relevant authorities.

Registration dates and in-person application

Online registration opened during the first days of June and will remain available until September 30, giving interested applicants ample time to gather their documents and complete the process. However, it is advisable not to wait until the last minute, as the availability of benefits may depend on demand and available spaces.
