Thanks to excellent binational coordination between Mexican and U.S. authorities, a U.S. citizen was arrested while attempting to illegally smuggle nine yellow-headed parrots (Amazona oratrix) across the international bridge in Reynosa, Tamaulipas 👮♂️🌉.
Jesús Elías Ibarra, director of the Conibio Global collective, reported that the birds were being transported hidden in a box, without any corresponding documentation or permits 📦❌.
