It’s time to have fun, rest, and leave the house to make the most of your free days. Prepare to blow up your schedule because here is a short list of free local events taking place this weekend in CDMX.

And we say “short” because it is just a taste of what we will have between Friday, June 12 and Sunday, June 14, 2026; as you surely already know, the complete list with more than twenty options (free and with cost) can be found around here. Without further ado, let’s begin.

1. World Cup Parade on Reforma Paseo de la Reforma (Diana Cazadora) — Monumento a la Revolución Mexico City will celebrate the kickoff of the sporting event with a 3-kilometer route that will bring together local traditions and football history. The journey will showcase themed floats about previous World Cup editions in the country, pieces dedicated to Xochimilco, a tribute to Diego Maradona, and Day of the Dead allegories to remember football legends. The contingent will include giant balloons of Juanito and Pique (the mascots of Mexico 1970 and 1986), in addition to monumental alebrijes, dozens of catrinas, and pre-Hispanic dancers. A batucada of 50 luchadores and Sonido La Changa, aboard their own vehicle, will provide the music for the advance of the contingents along the avenue.

2. Arab Culture Expo Expo Reforma 10:00 – 20:00 Mexico City will host an exhibition that brings together the gastronomy, traditions, and art of Arab nations. The meeting will offer tastings of typical sweets, spiced coffee, and representative dishes, as well as the option to get henna tattoos. The cultural program will include calligraphy workshops, conferences, screenings, and book presentations aimed at exploring the architecture and history of this civilization.

3. Barbacoa and Corn Expo in Tlalpan La Joya baseball field 8:00 – 17:00 The Tlalpan mayor’s office will bring together master barbacoa makers and families from the original peoples of the demarcation in a festival focused on rescuing traditional preparations in underground ovens and maguey stalks. Attendees will find generational recipes, consommé, and various snacks made with a corn base. The gathering will add live music, the sale of local crafts, and cultural activities to accompany the gastronomic days in the south of Mexico City.

4. Las Bestias Danzan Show Conference hall of the Centro Cultural del Bosque (Paseo de la Reforma and Campo Marte s/n, Chapultepec, Polanco) La liga-Teatro Elástico will present an interactive piece dedicated to the return of the Mexican gray wolf, a species declared extinct in the wild more than five decades ago. The event will link a workshop focused on children and youth with a theatrical intervention starring articulated beasts. The artists will assemble the large-format puppets in full view of the attendees to then manipulate them over the heads of the audience. The choreography will recreate the dynamic between hunter and prey, which will advance to the rhythm of traditional sones.
