Tamaulipas is set to experience a day of intense heat and highly oppressive conditions this Thursday, with “feels-like” temperatures potentially exceeding 50 degrees Celsius in several regions of the state, according to a report by Meteorología Tamaulipas.

The most severe conditions are expected in the “Cañera” (sugarcane-growing) zone, where the heat index is forecast to range between 49 and 53 degrees, followed by the southern part of the state with values ​​of 47 to 51 degrees. In the northern region, temperatures are estimated to reach between 46 and 50 degrees, while the central zone could see levels ranging from 45 to 49 degrees.

Given these conditions, specialists have warned of a high risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke. They recommend avoiding prolonged sun exposure, staying well-hydrated, and taking extra precautions—particularly regarding children, the elderly, and individuals with chronic illnesses.
