A special program is also being developed to assist those who lost official documents during the floods.

The heavy rains that fell in various municipalities of Coahuila in recent days damaged at least 1,400 homes, according to information provided by Gabriel Elizondo Pérez, state coordinator of Mejora Coahuila (Coahuila Improvement Program).

The greatest number of damages are concentrated in Piedras Negras, where nearly 1,000 homes reported damage, while in Frontera, around 400 properties were impacted by the floods.

The official explained that some of the affected homes sustained significant damage, estimated at approximately five percent of the total.

In some areas, the water level reached up to one meter high, causing material losses of furniture, electronic devices, and family belongings. Damage to structures, roofs, and patios was also detected, as well as the formation of sinkholes due to water accumulation.

Brigades are touring the area to coordinate aid distribution.

Given this situation, state brigades continue to tour the affected areas to assess the damage and coordinate the delivery of aid to the affected families. They are also working on a special program to assist those who lost official documents during the floods, facilitating the replacement of birth certificates and other essential documents through the intervention of the Civil Registry.

These were the figures available as of the weekend; however, after the rains recorded on Saturday and Sunday, the number of affected homes could increase as assessments continue and official reports are updated.
