This Saturday, Mazatlán will once again be awash in color with the 2026 LGBT Pride March, a mobilization expected to gather around 12,000 people to celebrate diversity, promote equality, and raise awareness of the historical demands of the LGBTQ+ community.

According to Israel Tavera Posadas, municipal coordinator for LGBT Community Affairs, participants will include members of collectives, activists, representatives of civil organizations, and citizens in general.

He explained that the gathering will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Sánchez Taboada Roundabout, one of the port’s most iconic landmarks.

“The march will take place this Saturday at 5:00 p.m., departing from the Sánchez Taboada Roundabout and proceeding along the Malecón to the La Perla del Pacífico (Valentinos) roundabout. Afterward, the organizing committee will hold the coronation ceremony in the Soriana parking lot (Rafael Buelna).”

The route will cover several kilometers of the coastal promenade, so temporary road closures will be implemented. Authorities recommend that motorists and public transportation users plan their trips in advance to avoid delays on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Tavera Posadas emphasized that creating safe spaces remains a priority, as they allow everyone to freely express their identity without fear of rejection or exclusion.

He invited the public to participate in the activities with an attitude of respect and coexistence, contributing to a more open, pluralistic, and tolerant society.
