In Yucatán, annual inflation reached 4.06%, above the national average of 3.95%, according to recent economic indicators. This reflects a sustained increase in consumer prices, with constant fluctuations in basic goods and essential services in the state.
The increase has been concentrated mainly in food items such as meat, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables, which has raised families’ daily expenses. This price increase reduces purchasing power and forces households to adjust their consumption in response to rising prices at various points of sale.
In this context, motorists in Mérida also reported adjustments in fuel prices, with regular gasoline reaching up to 24.29 pesos per liter at some service stations, adding further pressure to the daily expenses of transportation and mobility in the Yucatecan capital.
