Weekend brings arrests and seizures in Durango

Over the weekend, federal armed forces carried out seizures and arrests in Durango. Even a couple of municipal police officers were arrested in Nuevo Ideal.

The seizures included not only vehicles and weapons, but also animals such as tigers and horses in one of the raids conducted in the capital city.

With a donation of 500 tons of asphalt from PEMEX, the Durango government began the rehabilitation of 203 roads in Gómez Palacio and Lerdo.

Starting Sunday morning, the National Defense Secretariat also conducted an operation in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo. Unofficially, they reported the arrest of Guillermo ‘N’, alias El Cholo Flechas, who is considered a high-priority target and is allegedly responsible for the murder of a doctor at a clinic in the town of El Salto Pueblo in that municipality. A total of four people were arrested, along with weapons.

In Pueblo Nuevo, members of the National Guard (GN) and the Mexican Army arrested four people and seized a machine gun, nine long guns, four grenade launchers, eight grenades, 65 magazines, 2,329 rounds of ammunition, six bulletproof vests, five holsters, 10 radios, and six vehicles, two of which had been reported stolen.

Two municipal police officers were also arrested in Nuevo Ideal for failing to provide proof of ownership of firearms.

Regarding the animals, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) initiated an investigation following a report of armed individuals and exotic animals during patrols in the municipality of Victoria de Durango, Durango.

As part of the investigations carried out by #FECOR, he obtained authorization to execute a search warrant, securing three Bengal tigers, an ocelot, a lynx, 32 horses, a donkey, five vehicles, five motorcycles, four ATVs, a trailer and a trailer.
