The National Seismological Service has recorded three earthquakes off the coast of Sinaloa; while they occurred near the municipality of Guasave, they were felt in other municipalities, including Culiacán.
The strongest quake measured 6.1 in magnitude and struck at 12:45 PM, while another, measuring 4.9, was recorded at 1:29 PM. Authorities detected them at distances of 115 km and 116 km from the coast, at a depth of approximately 5 km.
The third tremor measured 4.8 in magnitude. The SSN detected it at 2:01 PM, 131 km from La Paz, Baja California Sur, at a depth of 9.9 km.
The Sinaloa State Civil Protection Institute reported no structural damage to buildings, though inspections are ongoing to assess properties and rule out any impact.
Despite their proximity to the municipality of Guasave, the earthquakes were felt in parts of Culiacán, necessitating the evacuation of some public and government buildings.
Evacuations were carried out in accordance with safety protocols, and no incidents occurred. After the buildings were inspected, most people were able to resume their activities.
Despite the distance, residents across various municipalities reported feeling the tremors, particularly in the northern and central regions of the state.
