Financing a car in Mexico for 7 years is now possible: Mexico’s cheapest car launches the program

Financing is one of the most important tools in our country when purchasing a new vehicle. According to the report “Financing and Light Vehicle Buyers,” published by the Mexican Association of Automotive Industry Distributors (AMDA) with the support of the analysis firms JATO and Urban Science, credit accounted for 77.4% of retail vehicle purchases in 29 states nationwide.

Among the advantages of financing are, for example, not needing to wait years to save for the full value of the vehicle, since you can make an affordable down payment and start using it immediately.

On the other hand, making timely payments on an auto loan is one of the most effective ways to demonstrate good financial habits, which opens the door to larger future loans, such as mortgages. Furthermore, there are various loan terms that adapt to your repayment capacity, allowing you to balance the size of your monthly payments with your monthly budget.

In this context, Renault launched Plan 84 in our market, a financing program that allows customers to pay a 20% down payment and have up to 84 months to pay off the car, with the goal of achieving lower monthly payments. In fact, Renault claims up to 10% lower than any other automotive financing option.

“With this, we become the only brand with such a competitive plan, a unique commercial offer nationwide, and one specifically designed to give more Mexicans access to safe and efficient mobility,” stated Jesús Gallo, CEO of Renault Mexico, who confirmed that customers who access this financing can make advance payments or pay it off before the end of the term without penalties.

“With the same goal in mind, the Renault Kwid will be priced from 202,900 pesos and will include one year of free insurance, a permanent feature of the brand, when purchased through Renault Financial Services (RSF). The model also comes with a five-year or 140,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first, a benefit that reinforces the confidence of those looking to buy a new vehicle with greater peace of mind,” Renault stated in a press release.

What Renault did not disclose is the interest rate for this financing plan, but to give you an idea, the Arkana, Boreal, and Koleos models offer a financing plan of up to 72 months with an interest rate of 9.9% when purchased through Renault Financial Services.
