No more protecting narco-politicians—governors, senators, lawmakers, and mayors—who “won” with the backing of organized crime.
No more protecting “El Cacas,” the man who handed the country over to the cartels and sealed that pact with his slogan of “hugs, not bullets.”
No more protecting the parasites—AMLO’s children and their friends—who, without ever having held a real job, became immensely wealthy off the useless “mega-projects” built during their corrupt father’s six-year term.
No more blustering from the pulpit of the morning press conferences or from the podium at massive rallies in Mexico City packed with bused-in crowds.
The voluminous case files are already in U.S. courts; the cartel bosses have turned state’s evidence, and some MORENA politicians are also acting as informants to save their own skins.
The “springtime” of MORENA’s narco-government is over.
