On Monday, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office confirmed it is conducting inspections at the Puerto Vallarta police station as part of investigations into the disappearance of two individuals in the municipality.

The case involves two men whose whereabouts have been unknown since January 2; no further details regarding their identities were released. The Special Prosecutor’s Office for Missing Persons, in collaboration with the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF), is conducting an administrative review to analyze documentation and records of entries and exits at the station located in the Ixtapa district.

This action follows the Prosecutor’s Office’s confirmation that the two missing individuals had previously been detained at the station for “administrative infractions” prior to their disappearance being reported.

State authorities noted that no arrests were made following these proceedings, and the investigation is ongoing; no further details regarding the victims or the specific case under investigation have been disclosed.
