The president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco), Olivaldo Paz, indicated that the Iranian ambassador to Mexico, Abolfazl Pasandideh, gave him this information.

A direct flight between Iran and Tijuana, as well as the opening of an Iranian embassy office at Canaco Tijuana, are projects announced by the president of Canaco Tijuana, Olivaldo Paz.

In an interview, Paz stated that the Iranian ambassador to Mexico, Abolfazl Pasandideh, informed him that an Iranian embassy office will be established at the Chamber of Commerce, which will serve Iranians residing in Southern California three times a week. Although there is no specific date yet, the Canaco president assured that the office will open within three months.

Regarding the direct flight between Iran and Tijuana, Paz affirmed that it will benefit the Tijuana community. “I don’t know if it has a layover in Istanbul, but if they want a direct flight, whether it’s once a week or every two weeks, it’s happening,” he explained.

Finally, Olivaldo Paz shared a reflection on his perception of the people of Iran. “Before, I had read about Iran and those people, and I thought of them as terrorists, but now, having met them during my stay in Tijuana, I’ve found them to be very kind and compassionate people,” he concluded.
