Art and culture will fill the summer holidays for girls, boys and young people in Jalisco

68

The summer vacation season will provide children and teenagers with an opportunity to develop their creativity through a wide range of artistic and cultural activities promoted by the Government of Jalisco. The program aims to bring families closer to educational spaces where learning is combined with play, imagination, and social interaction.

Summer Art and Culture Courses

The Ministry of Culture will offer activities in different regions of the state, with workshops designed for participants six years of age and older. Music, visual arts, literature, theater, and dance are all part of the Escuela de Artes Jalisco program, whose courses are intended to spark interest in the arts and strengthen creative skills from an early age.

One of the most anticipated programs is My Vacation at the Library, which will return to more than 250 public libraries across Jalisco with free activities focused on reading, writing, critical thinking, and imagination. After attracting more than 319,000 participants last year, the initiative returns with workshops inspired by literature and even soccer, taking advantage of the school break to encourage reading habits.

The Museo Cabañas will also host activities for children through its cultural week “Myths and Legends in Art: From Greece to Comics!”, where participants will explore fantasy stories through drawing, theater, creative writing, and graphic storytelling, while also taking part in games and group activities.

Also joining the program is the Juan José Arreola Literary Workshop House in Zapotlán el Grande, which will organize a course in which children adapt classic works of Mexican literature for the stage, strengthening both reading skills and oral and artistic expression.
