Cascadas de Reforma Water Park was temporarily closed following a crocodile attack that left two visitors injured.

The incident occurred around noon on Monday, when Filiberto Díaz Ávalos, María Elena Ramírez Cuevas, and the minor Mark Antony Díaz Patriz were attacked by the reptile while visiting the water park.

Official Closure

According to the victims’ account, the 27-year-old man was being pulled underwater by the crocodile. His grandfather, Filiberto Díaz Ávalos, was injured while attempting to rescue him.

Following last week’s incident, personnel from the Municipal Civil Protection Department and the Municipal Environmental Protection Office placed official suspension notices at the entrance to the water park, temporarily restricting all activities due to the danger posed by the crocodile.

The temporary closure was agreed upon with the managers of the ecotourism center and the local ejido members responsible for operating the site.

The tourist attraction remains closed until further notice.
