The Guanajuato State Government’s Ministry of Culture has begun the closing of the first semester of its social program, Musical Winds for the People. From June 30th to August 21st, the state of Guanajuato will be filled with music and color.
Musical Winds for the People is a community-based music education program present in 26 municipalities, fostering dialogue and a culture of peace. It includes 27 groups, among them orchestras and symphonic bands, choral ensembles, and the Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Between June and August, Summer Concerts are held for all Guanajuato families, showcasing the progress of the children and teenagers who benefit from this program.
The summer season began with Symphonic Band recitals in Jerécuaro on June 30, Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas on July 1, Salamanca and Purísima del Rincón on July 4, and Moroleón on July 5.
The recitals continue on July 7 at the Casa de Cultura Auditorium in Abasolo at 5:00 p.m.; on July 8, there will be two performances: at 4:30 p.m. at the Santa Escuela in San Luis de la Paz and at 5:00 p.m. at the Casa de la Cultura in Valle de Santiago. Finally, Salvatierra awaits them at the Templo del Carmen on July 9 at 5:00 p.m.

The choral ensembles began on July 2 in Manuel Doblado, followed by Doctor Mora the next day and San Felipe on July 6. The concerts continue on July 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla School in the community of Cieneguilla de Tierra Blanca and at 5:00 p.m. at the Cuerámaro House of Culture; on July 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tarandacuao House of Culture, concluding on July 31 at 5:00 p.m. at the Comonfort House of Culture.
Meanwhile, the symphony orchestras began their performances at the Hospital Temple in Acámbaro and the San José Iturbide House of Culture Auditorium. Performances continue on July 7 in Jaral del Progreso at the Prof. Fulgencio Vargas House of Culture at 4:30 p.m. and in Cortazar at 5:00 p.m. at the Temple of Our Lady of Guadalupe; followed by a performance in Uriangato on July 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium. Closing on August 31st at the Irapuato City Theater at 6:00 p.m.
Finally, Tarimoro will host the Camerata’s Summer Concert on July 8th at 5:00 p.m. at the House of Culture.

The concert programs include works composed by the children and teenagers who benefit from Musical Winds for the People program, as well as works by composers from Guanajuato, Mexico, and around the world.

These performances reaffirm the Guanajuato State Government’s commitment to promoting the artistic development of children and teenagers in Guanajuato. The Musical Winds for the People social program benefits approximately 2,000 people each year.
