The Oaxaca State Tourism Secretariat (Sectur Oaxaca) inaugurated the art exhibition “Brushstrokes of Tradition 2026,” featuring 35 works submitted to the competition to select the official image for the 2026 Guelaguetza festival.
The exhibition will be open from July 9 to August 2 in Plaza Santo Domingo, located on the pedestrian walkway in Oaxaca City, where national and international tourists, as well as local residents, can appreciate the talent of the participating artists.
Among the exhibited pieces, the original work “Symphony of Colors,” by artist Noel Gómez Lorenzo, from San Juan Colorado, stands out. This piece was chosen as the representative image of the 2026 Guelaguetza for reflecting the cultural richness and spirit of Oaxaca’s most important festival.
