AMLO “Authorized” the Murder of Melesio Cuén, According to Gerardo Mérida’s Testimony in the U.S.; Details of the FBI’s King Air Operation in Mexico to Capture “El Mayo” Revealed

Gerardo Mérida Sánchez, the former Secretary of Public Security under Rubén Rocha Moya’s government in Sinaloa, has already appeared before a Federal Court in New York after surrendering following U.S. charges accusing him of protecting the Sinaloa Cartel to allow it to operate illegal businesses.

Regarding the case, attorney Simón Levy announced that he had access to the testimony of the official, who was charged alongside nine other alleged narco-politicians.

Based on Mérida Sánchez’s case file, Levy shares details about the aircraft and the FBI’s King Air operation in Mexico to capture Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, in which Joaquín Guzmán López, son of El Chapo, allegedly played a key role.

However, several events are interconnected, including the murder of Héctor Melesio Cuén, who was allegedly lured to the Huertos del Pedregal property under false pretenses, just like the cartel leader himself, with the excuse of reconciling differences with Rubén Rocha Moya. Rocha allegedly had an alibi to avoid responsibility in the matter, claiming that on July 25, 2024, he had traveled to the United States, although that trip has not been fully documented.

AMLO “Authorized” the Murder of Melesio Cuén: Simón Levy

According to Simón Levy:

“Gerardo Mérida Sánchez has directly accused Rocha Moya of being the intellectual author of Melesio Cuén’s murder and has presented evidence that Andrés Manuel López Obrador not only knew about it but also authorized it through Audomaro Martínez. The alliance between Jesús Vizcarra, Rubén Rocha Moya, and the Sinaloa Cartel.”

“This is what I have already made public, and it is the essence of the case: Mérida has accused AMLO in New York and documented the alliance between the Sinaloa Cartel and Rocha Moya, extending all the way to Andrés Manuel López Obrador,” Levy stated.

The FBI’s King Air Operation in Mexico to Capture “El Mayo”

The first person to provide details about the operation was organized crime and drug trafficking specialist Luis Chaparro, a journalist from Pie de Nota, who reported for the first time that the United States had knowledge of and participated in the capture of the Sinaloa Cartel leaders, who were arrested at the Santa Teresa Airport in New Mexico in July 2024.

Levy now expands on that information, confirming what Chaparro had reported ten days earlier: an aircraft’s registration numbers were changed and cloned.

“But the serial number of an aircraft fuselage cannot be changed. It is stamped into the structure at the factory and survives every repainting, every owner, and every jurisdiction. It is the aircraft’s birth certificate, and it does not lie.

The fuselage I am going to write about is called BB-191. It is a 1976 Beechcraft King Air 200, a twin-engine propeller aircraft, discreet enough not to attract attention on any runway. Today, it is the physical piece connecting the July 25, 2024 operation—the day Ismael Zambada was taken to the United States—with the government of Sinaloa.”

The FBI’s King Air Operation Was Named After the Aircraft

“You do not name an operation after an aircraft you only discovered once it landed,” Levy states.

According to him, the fact that the aircraft gave its name to the operation means it was central to the planning, indicating that the FBI had the aircraft under surveillance before it even took off.

Levy argues that this directly contradicts the position maintained by former U.S. Ambassador Ken Salazar from the beginning and reiterated later: “It was not our operation.”

The Aircraft’s Display in the U.S. Sends a Message to Mexico

The aircraft has now been donated to the War Eagles Air Museum, located at the Doña Ana County Airport in Santa Teresa, near El Paso, Texas, where “El Mayo” was captured on July 25, 2024.

According to Levy, displaying the aircraft in that museum sends a clear message from the FBI to the Mexican government: the United States can capture a cartel leader on Mexican territory, “but the Mexican government cannot, or does not want to, hand over its own. The United States did it alone, documented it, and now displays it in a museum.”

What Is Known About the Pilot?

Although it has been claimed that the pilot was an undercover FBI agent, this has not been confirmed by any authority in either country.

What is known so far is that El Mayo was transported by Mauro Alberto Núñez Ojeda, alias “El Jando,” identified as the personal pilot for Los Chapitos. He was arrested in Sinaloa, held in custody in Mexico, and later transferred to the United States, where he reportedly signed a plea agreement on drug trafficking and conspiracy charges, committing to cooperate by providing information about the organization’s operations.

In the coming days, additional details from Gerardo Mérida’s testimony in the United States are expected to emerge. The alleged undercover FBI operation in Mexico to arrest “El Mayo” is likely to remain a major topic of discussion as judicial proceedings continue in the New York Federal Court against the alleged Mexican narco-politicians implicated in the case.
