With over 3,300 kilometers of roads and highways, Michoacán was a highlight at the 25th National Land Transport Infrastructure Meeting organized by the Mexican Association of Land Transport Infrastructure Engineering (AMIVTAC). State Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla emphasized that the projects currently underway will serve not only to strengthen road infrastructure but also to boost the economy and the well-being of the people of Michoacán.

He noted that the modernization and expansion of the Siglo XXI highway, the creation of the Uruapan-Zamora agro-industrial corridor, and modernization efforts in Maravatío are all part of the “Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice,” which is being implemented in the state with an investment exceeding 42 million pesos.
In addition, work is being carried out to expand the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, aiming to facilitate greater movement of goods into and through the state.

Speaking at the event, Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), highlighted that the gathering offers an opportunity to share experiences and explore the various techniques available for improving the country’s land transport infrastructure.

During the awards presentation, he emphasized that construction professionals bear the responsibility of creating conditions that transform projects and values ​​into decisions ensuring that infrastructure is not merely an end in itself, but a means to improve people’s quality of life.
