Mitzuko Márquez Monroy, the state president of Morena in Colima, stated that people who are unhappy in Mexico “should leave the country,” while defending the track record of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s administration and the “Fourth Transformation” project.

“This country is wonderful; it is magnificent,” Márquez said when discussing the state of the nation. She went on to say that those who do not share that view or are unhappy in Mexico “should leave the country.”

During her remarks, the Morena leader attributed the origins of various insecurity and violence issues facing the country to past federal administrations led by the PRI and the PAN.

She also cited the hosting of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as an example of Mexico’s organizational capacity and the economic conditions the country is experiencing, in her view.

Mitzuko Márquez Monroy serves as president of Morena’s State Executive Committee in Colima. She holds a degree in Political and Social Sciences from the University of Colima and previously served as the party’s state General Secretary; she was also formerly a member of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).
