The municipality of Querétaro announced a series of activities as part of the celebration of the 495th anniversary of the founding of the city of Santiago de Querétaro, taking place from July 24 to 28.
On Friday, July 24, the festivities will begin with a gathering of former members of the Santiago de Querétaro Youth Symphonic Band at 7:00 p.m. at the old train station.
On Saturday, July 25, there will be a workshop, “Monarch Butterfly, a Traveling Species,” at the esplanade of the Cerro de las Campanas Museum at 10:00 a.m.
That same day at 5:00 p.m., the parade for the eighth annual Symphonic Band Encounter, 2026, will be held in the Alameda Hidalgo, featuring representatives from Zacatecas, Colima, Guanajuato, Puebla, and Querétaro.
On Sunday, July 26, a large concert will be held as part of the eighth annual Symphonic Band Encounter 2026, featuring ska and symphonic rock at 1 pm at the Manuel Gómez Morín State Educational and Cultural Center.
And on Tuesday, July 28, the Querétaro Song Contest will take place at 5:30 pm at the City Theater.
All these activities are completely free.
