As part of its rainy season preparedness efforts, the Government of Oaxaca carried out cleaning and dredging work on the storm drain system in the Historic Center of Oaxaca de Juárez, removing 18.6 tons of solid waste.
Through the State Water Commission for Well-being (Ceabien) and the Water and Sewerage Services Operating System (Soapa), 73 manholes, 95 storm drain grates, and eight catch basins were serviced to prevent flooding and ensure the proper functioning of this infrastructure.
Dirt, mud, plastics, inorganic waste, and other solid debris that obstruct the storm drain system and impede the flow of rainwater were also removed.
The State Government urges the public to avoid littering in public areas and storm drains to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
