The US dollar opened trading this Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at an exchange rate of 17.39 Mexican pesos, according to information from the Bank of Mexico at the close of trading on the previous business day.

The official exchange rate is determined by the Bank of Mexico based on an average of wholesale exchange market quotes for transactions settled on the second business day following the closing date. These quotes are obtained from foreign exchange trading platforms and other electronic means with a significant presence in the foreign exchange market, the institution explained.

This is how the dollar is trading at banks and money transfer companies in Mexico:
At Banamex, the dollar is trading at 16.90 pesos for buying and 17.82 pesos for selling.

The behavior of the exchange rate has direct effects on remittances, travel, border trade, international payment transactions, and the financial decisions of millions of people. The dollar at Elektra – Banco Azteca is currently trading at 17.00 MXN for buying and 17.99 MXN for selling.
At international money transfer companies, the dollar is quoted at 17.02 MXN at Western Union.

Meanwhile, the exchange rate at MoneyGram is 18.00 MXN for 1 dollar.
