President Claudia Sheinbaum will now seek, under the pretext of “audience rights,” to regulate print media and digital platforms, including social media.
Luisa María Alcalde mentioned that the Audience Rights Commission currently only regulates radio and television. However, it will now have to be reviewed whether print media and the content shared on digital platforms should also be regulated under the concept of “the right to audiences.”
