The Cuban dictatorship lamented Abelardo de la Espriella’s decision to close the Colombian embassy in Havana and sever diplomatic relations with the island.
Cuban government officials asserted that there were no grounds for such a decision and affirmed that Cuba has only ever worked to promote peace in Colombia.
Venezuela, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, and Chile will no longer provide the same level of political and economic support as before, leaving the Cuban regime increasingly isolated on the continent, and its days are numbered.
Currently, the only two governments aligned with the island are those of Claudia Sheinbaum in Mexico and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil. However, both face intense pressure from the United States, which has warned that countries supplying oil to Cuba or providing economic support to the regime could face tariffs and other trade measures.
