The man accused of pushing an elderly man during the Color Run released a video offering a public apology and claiming that the Huamantla government was not responsible for the incident.
However, the event’s website shows that registration was already sold out, meaning it was no longer possible to purchase a ticket to participate. This has raised questions about the justification for preventing the elderly man from crossing the finish line.
For its part, the Huamantla government also distanced itself from the incident and attributed responsibility to the organizing company. Nevertheless, social media users point out that it is the responsibility of the municipal authorities to supervise and ensure that companies contracted for public events act in accordance with the law and with respect for the public.
