The Government of the State of Morelos announced that this year’s edition of the Ceramic Festival has successfully consolidated the traditional community of Tres de Mayo—located in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata—as one of the most important epicenters of cultural and artisanal tourism in the region.
The event brought together dozens of master potters and local artisans, who had the opportunity to exhibit and sell a wide variety of ornamental, utilitarian, and high-craft pieces created using ancestral techniques passed down from generation to generation. Authorities emphasized that festivals of this nature are fundamental for stimulating the regional economy, preserving the state’s intangible cultural heritage, and opening direct commercialization channels for local creators without intermediaries.
Additionally, the festival featured interactive workshops, culinary exhibitions, and artistic performances that drew hundreds of local visitors and domestic tourists. Through these initiatives, the state administration reaffirms its commitment to boosting community economic development, placing Morelos’s artisanal craftwork firmly on the national tourism map while celebrating the talent that defines the region’s identity.
