From 2025 to 2026, crime among adolescents increased from 57 to 72 case files and from 91 to 111 offenses. The number of young people involved in antisocial behavior also grew from 69 to 87, as did the consumption of marijuana and crystal methamphetamine.
Drug dealing, carrying a weapon, aggravated homicide, and femicide were the antisocial behaviors that increased over the past year, according to the report by Adriana Pineda Fernández, magistrate of the Morelos Specialized Juvenile Criminal Justice Court.
The comparison of the months from January to July 2025 with the same period in 2026 shows that antisocial behaviors such as sexual abuse, rape, and extortion continued to occur.
The municipalities where the highest number of offenses were committed were:
- Cuautla
- Zacatepec
- Yautepec
- Temixco
- Cuernavaca
- Tlaltizapán
- Jojutla
- Yecapixtla
The activity report, corresponding to the 2025–2026 period, was delivered to the president of the Morelos Congress Board of Directors, Isaac Pimentel Mejía. During the meeting, the legislator recognized the work carried out by the Court and emphasized the importance of strengthening the institutions responsible for ensuring specialized, sensitive justice that respects the rights of adolescents.
Pimentel reaffirmed the Legislative Branch’s willingness to maintain an institutional relationship based on dialogue and cooperation, always within the scope of the powers corresponding to each body.
