The Government Secretariat, through the General Directorate for Human Rights and Sexual Diversity, participated in the Sixth National Meeting of the Mexican LGBTTTIQANB+ Coalition, held in the municipality of Cuautla.
The gathering featured various academic and institutional activities aimed at creating spaces for dialogue, reflection, and consensus-building to defend, protect, and promote the human rights of individuals with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.
Andrea Acevedo García, Director General for Human Rights—representing Government Secretary Edgar Maldonado—reaffirmed the state administration’s commitment to building a society that is more just, inclusive, and respectful of human rights. She emphasized the promotion of actions designed to eradicate all forms of discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
She also noted that these forums strengthen education and raise awareness regarding sexual diversity, gender identity, and human rights—serving as essential tools to foster respect and inclusion within workplace, educational, community, and social environments.
Finally, she stated that the State Executive branch would continue to work in coordination with institutions and civil society organizations to advance policies and actions that guarantee respect for human dignity and the full exercise of rights for all individuals, without distinction.
