Violent weekend in Morelos leaves 8 dead

At least eight people were killed and five others wounded by gunfire in multiple violent incidents in Morelos.

On Saturday, August 1, several shootings were reported.

In a bar in downtown Tetecala, two men were killed after being shot.

Similarly, in the Altavista neighborhood of Cuernavaca, an armed attack occurred during the opening of a bar. Two people were killed and five others were injured.

On Sunday, August 2, the body of a man was found inside a vehicle parked on the Mexico-Acapulco highway, near Puente de Ixtla.

Initial reports indicate that the victim had gunshot wounds, but the motive is unknown.

Also, in Jiutepec, three bodies with gunshot wounds were found.

In all cases, the Morelos State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) opened the corresponding investigations.
