The federal government continued handing over keys to recipients of loans from the National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute (Infonavit)—this time in Querétaro, where the goal is to build 40,000 homes. Contracts for 16,000 have already been signed, and contracts for another 30,000 are set to be finalized in the coming days, representing 90 percent of the state-level target.
During today’s presidential press conference—broadcast remotely from San Juan del Río—the handover of keys and an apartment to the family of Tatiana Esmeralda Vega Romero and her three daughters in the Prados de San Juan housing development was highlighted.
Governor Mauricio Kuri described it as a “great program that helps many families in San Juan del Río by changing their reality.”
It was explained that Infonavit will cover 21 states with these housing deliveries and that nine investment projects are currently underway, totaling 29.1 billion pesos over the course of the six-year term.
Infonavit Director Octavio Romero detailed that 112 housing developments across the country are already fully sold out—amounting to more than 33,000 homes—and that 14 additional developments will open this year in various states.
