Arcos Dorados, the world’s largest independent McDonald’s franchisee, has opened a new path to drive the chain’s expansion across Latin America and the Caribbean by inviting landowners to submit their properties as potential locations for future restaurants.
The company launched a specialized Real Estate portal where individuals and businesses can register properties that meet the requirements for developing new McDonald’s restaurants, a strategy aimed at expanding the pool of real estate opportunities across the region.
What Types of Properties Is Arcos Dorados Looking For?
In a statement, the company explained that it is seeking properties located in strategic areas with high vehicle and pedestrian traffic, strong visibility, and conditions suitable for developing modern restaurants, preferably with space to incorporate the drive-thru format, which has become one of the chain’s most important operating models in recent years.
The submitted properties will be reviewed by the company’s Real Estate team, which will evaluate additional factors such as legal documentation and the development potential of each site.
“The submitted properties will be evaluated by the company’s Real Estate team, which will review criteria such as location, accessibility, visibility, documentation, and development potential,” the company stated.
If a property meets the established requirements, Arcos Dorados will proceed with a more detailed technical evaluation and may subsequently present a commercial proposal to the property owner.
The initiative seeks to simplify the identification of locations with growth potential through an open process rather than relying exclusively on intermediaries or internal property searches.
Arcos Dorados operates the McDonald’s brand in 21 countries and territories across Latin America and the Caribbean, managing a network of more than 2,500 restaurants, making it the largest independent McDonald’s operator in the world.
