Digital Transformation Agency Launches Online Booking Platform for Mexicana Flights, Maya Train, and Hotels
The Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT), in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, enabled an online shopping module on the Visit México platform https://visitmexico.com/reservaciones, allowing users to purchase Mexicana airline tickets, Maya Train tickets, as well as accommodations at Grupo Mundo Maya hotels at affordable prices.
According to a statement issued by the agency, by bringing together flight options, lodging, and train routes to southeastern Mexico on a single platform, the system makes it easier for domestic and international tourists to complete purchases, plan trips, and improve their travel experience.
The ATDT highlighted that this integration strengthens tourism connectivity, expands access to destinations, and helps people discover Mexico’s cultural, historical, gastronomic, and natural wealth.
The agency explained that the Visit México platform provides access to the Maya Train’s operating routes, which connect the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo through its eight sections: Palenque, Escárcega, Calkiní, Izamal, Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Bacalar.
Rates
The ATDT reported that payment for services can be made through Visa and Mastercard, and that different service categories and prices are available depending on their characteristics.
For example, the Premier National and International fare offers larger seats and aisles, USB and electrical outlets, as well as adjustable backrests and cervical cushions, footrests, and a wider tray table.
The Tourist National and Tourist International fare includes comfortable seating, USB ports, electrical outlets, access to an onboard cafeteria, adjustable footrests, and cervical cushions.
Meanwhile, the Local Tourist fare provides the same benefits for residents of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo.
To pay for a route, passengers must present a voter identification card or a valid passport in the case of foreign visitors.
There is also a Special Fare for senior citizens, students, teachers, and people with reduced mobility, available through accreditation with an INAPAM, student, or teacher identification card.
The Agreement Fare applies to active-duty military personnel, retirees and their beneficiaries, as well as employees of ISSFAM, Banjército, GAFSACOMM, Maya Train, Mexicana, and AIFA, through a work or beneficiary identification card.
Regarding accommodations, the platform includes direct reservations at Grupo Mundo Maya properties located in Nuevo Uxmal, Edzná, Tulum, Tulum Airport, Calakmul, Chichén Itzá, and Palenque.
For air connectivity, domestic flights with Mexicana are available to Acapulco, Campeche, Chetumal, Chihuahua, Mexico City AIFA, Ciudad Victoria, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Ixtepec, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, León Guanajuato, Los Cabos, Mazatlán, Mérida, Monterrey, Palenque, Puerto Vallarta, Tijuana, Tulum, and Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
