Following its transition from a single annual fee to a monthly administration charge, financial institution Banamex has launched a promotional framework allowing qualifying clients to eliminate this monthly fee for their first year.

To qualify for the waiver during the initial 12 months, cardholders must meet specific activation and usage criteria:

Eligibility Period: The promotion applies to new credit cards contracted between July 30 and September 24, 2026.

Initial Activation Steps: To secure the first-month credit bonus, users must activate both their physical and digital cards, and complete at least one purchase using the digital card via online stores, apps, or mobile wallets like Google Pay or Apple Pay.

Monthly Maintenance Requirements: To keep the administration fee waived in subsequent months during the first year, users must meet a minimum monthly spending threshold of 300 pesos using either the physical or digital card. Purchases made through installment plans (meses sin intereses) count toward this amount, whereas cash withdrawals do not.

Participating Cards: The promotion applies to primary accounts for select products including Clásica, Oro, and Platinum credit cards.

Once the initial 12-month promotional period concludes, the standard monthly administration fee will automatically resume according to the bank’s regular terms.
