Chiapan communities and invited artists will participate in a cultural gathering that will combine indigenous rock, traditional music, workshops, and dances in communities of the Highlands of Chiapas during August.

Music in Indigenous languages and the artistic talent of Chiapas will take center stage during the Bats’i Fest 2026, Indigenous Rock and Native Music Festival, which will take place from August 6 to 8, 2026, in different municipalities of the state’s Highlands region.
The cultural event will include activities in Chenalhó, Mitontic, Aldama, Chamula, and Zinacantán, where residents and visitors will be able to enjoy concerts, workshops, traditional dances, and various cultural expressions.
Among the Chiapan artists and groups participating are Sak Tzevul, a band from Chiapas recognized for combining rock music with elements of Indigenous culture, as well as Ik’al Ajaw, Yibel, Lumaltok, and Yajvalel Vinajel.
The festival will also feature other invited groups and the participation of the Chiapas Symphony Orchestra, as part of a program aimed at strengthening the music and traditions of Indigenous communities.
Through Indigenous rock and native music, the festival seeks to highlight new musical proposals that preserve elements of identity, language, and tradition.
The Bats’i Fest 2026 includes a program that combines musical performances with educational and cultural activities, with the goal of bringing audiences closer to the different artistic expressions of Chiapas communities.
For three days, the host municipalities will welcome artists and visitors to celebrate the cultural diversity of Chiapas through music and other community-based expressions.
