Chad Eberle, 35, accused of a triple homicide in Coahuila, Mexico, worked for nearly eight years at various law enforcement agencies in the state of Texas, including the Bexar County Sheriff’s Precinct 2.
According to data obtained by N+ Univision San Antonio from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, Chad Eberle worked for several law enforcement agencies in Bexar, Santa Anna, Bangs, Lockney, Gregory, Marble Falls, and Somerset, cities located in southern, central, and northern Texas.

He also worked for the Northside Independent School District (ISD) Police Department.
The information about his employment history emerged while the investigation continues in Mexico into an attack that occurred in Saltillo, Coahuila, where two women and one man were killed.
According to local media reports, the victims were allegedly his former in-laws and former sister-in-law. His former partner was seriously injured during the attack.
According to the Coahuila State Attorney General’s Office, Eberle was arrested when he was allegedly attempting to cross from Mexico into the United States through International Bridge No. 2, which connects Piedras Negras, Coahuila, with Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Texas agencies where Chad Eberle worked
The report dated August 6, 2026, shows that Eberle accumulated 7 years and 11 months of service as a peace officer and worked for several police and public safety agencies in Texas.
The agencies where he worked include:
- Bexar County Constable Precinct 2 (January 10, 2019 – January 8, 2020)
- Northside ISD Police Department (August 25, 2017 – January 8, 2019)
- Gregory Police Department (February 28, 2020 – September 29, 2021)
- Lockney Police Department (March 21, 2022 – March 25, 2023)
- Bangs Police Department (June 21, 2023 – June 6, 2025)
- Santa Anna Police Department, where he was listed as actively serving since November 25, 2025.
The document also indicates that he obtained his peace officer license in January 2017 and later received basic, intermediate, and advanced certifications issued by TCOLE.
The case in Coahuila
According to Mexican authorities, the case originated from a dispute related to the custody of a three-year-old child.
The Coahuila Prosecutor’s Office reported that the deceased victims were Ana Laura de León Morín, 44; Laura Jaquelín Mora de León, 22; and Emanuel Montero, 54. In addition, Litzy Anahí Mora de León, 26, Eberle’s former partner, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Chad Eberle was transferred to the Saltillo prison
The Coahuila State Attorney General’s Office reported that Eberle was admitted at 9:59 p.m. to the Saltillo Men’s Penitentiary, where he was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority that will oversee his case.
The agency also confirmed that the three-year-old child is now in Saltillo under the protection of the Office for the Protection of Children and Families (PRONNIF) while the investigation continues.
The authorities also stated that they are maintaining communication with the United States Consular Office throughout the case.
