Zacatecas has begun the process of creating an automotive cluster as part of a strategy to strengthen industrial development, increase the state’s competitiveness, and establish the automotive sector as one of its main economic drivers, according to the state government.
The Secretary of Economy, Jorge Miranda Castro, explained that the initiative will bring together automotive companies, higher education institutions, research centers, business organizations, and government authorities to strengthen collaboration among the different stakeholders in the industry.
According to the official, the creation of the cluster will help promote local suppliers, encourage innovation, develop specialized talent, attract new investment, and strengthen companies already operating in the state.
Miranda Castro added that the second informational meeting, scheduled for August 11, will officially launch the process of establishing the cluster. During the meeting, participants will be introduced to the project’s objectives, scope, and implementation plan.
