The National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur) has officially announced a new direct sales program for real estate lots located across several of Mexico’s premier coastal destinations, including Huatulco, Ixtapa, Loreto, and Los Cabos.

According to federal officials, the initiative aims to commercialize available land reserves to generate revenue that will be directly reinvested into regional infrastructure, tourism maintenance, and sustainable development projects within these designated tourism zones. The direct sale process is structured to provide transparent guidelines for investors, developers, and individuals interested in acquiring property in these high-demand coastal regions.

Fonatur emphasized that the initiative will follow strict regulatory frameworks to ensure legal certainty for buyers while promoting orderly urban growth. By unlocking these federal land assets, the government seeks to stimulate local economic activity, encourage private investment in regional hospitality and housing sectors, and bolster the long-term economic viability of these iconic resort areas.
