The Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco) has released a comprehensive quality and price study evaluating whole milk brands available in the Mexican market, highlighting options that offer exceptional nutritional value at an economical price point.
According to Profeco’s analysis, consumers can find high-quality, 100% pure cow’s milk that is ultrapasteurized and priced at approximately 25 pesos per liter. The study evaluated critical parameters including protein content, fat percentage, non-fat solids, and net volume to determine which commercial brands genuinely deliver what they promise on their labeling without compromising consumer wallets.
The federal agency reminded shoppers to carefully check product labels to distinguish between real cow’s milk and dairy formulas or mixed products, which often contain vegetable fats or added ingredients. By highlighting these affordable and compliant whole milk options, Profeco aims to assist families in making informed purchasing decisions that support household budgets while maintaining proper nutritional standards.
