The Ministry of Finance and Planning (Sefiplan) of Quintana Roo is gearing up to hold its third and final public vehicle auction of the current administrative period between August and September.
According to state officials, the primary objective of the auction is to decommission and sell off official government vehicles that have reached the end of their useful working life. The funds generated from the sale will be directly reinvested into acquiring brand-new units to strengthen and modernize the vehicle fleet across various state government dependencies.
Authorities noted that a similar auction held last year successfully raised approximately eight million pesos, which was instrumental in purchasing updated operational transport. Officials anticipate reaching a comparable financial return this year, ensuring that state employees—particularly those required to travel frequently on regional highways—have reliable, efficient, and safe transport to carry out their public duties. Once the public bidding process concludes and the total revenue is calculated, the state will evaluate the most critical operational needs to prioritize vehicle distribution among government agencies.
