Andy López Beltrán, son of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, used the cancellation of his visa to campaign and on Friday shared a video on social media showing him visiting several communities in Tabasco, where he is seeking to become a federal deputy representing the sixth district.
In a video, the Morena politician called on the people to organize in response to the “attack on national sovereignty by foreign governments,” particularly the United States.
“Another day in the territory, one step closer to the people. Today we visited the community of Vicente Guerrero, in Teapa, and Cuitláhuac, in Tacotalpa,” the message says.
In the footage, the former Morena Organization Secretary can be seen greeting families and handing them copies of the Regeneración Nacional newspaper.
In recent days, Andy López Beltrán revealed that the name of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador “is the key” that opens doors for him while campaigning in Tabasco and that this is the only way he is identified in the state.
In an interview with a YouTuber, AMLO’s son said that people welcome him into their homes and stated that this is why they listen to him.
“I have not received any comments. People receive me very well. People tell me: ‘We welcome you because you are the son of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and we do not welcome all politicians that way. That is why we are going to listen to you,’” he stated.
This Thursday, August 13, the son of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that his visa had been canceled, so he decided to send a letter to President Donald Trump, in which he stated that there is “no reason that justifies this,” because, according to him, there is no evidence against him of any criminal act.
