Between 12 and 15 armed individuals on motorcycles arrived at the tire shop “Llantas la Vía” in the Santa María neighborhood of Puebla to demand 100,000 pesos in extortion payments in exchange for allowing the business to continue operating. When the workers refused to pay, the aggressors began beating them, and one of them fired a firearm, injuring three employees before fleeing on different motorcycles.
Julio, 35, was the most seriously injured, with three gunshot wounds to the abdomen and back that required emergency transportation to a hospital.
