After bringing together nearly 900 people in its previous edition, Ciudad Madero is preparing a new edition of the Marciano Fest, with the goal of making history by bringing together an even larger number of people dressed as aliens.
The festival will take place in October 2026 at Playa Miramar, where organizers are seeking to surpass the previous attendance figure and strengthen the event as one of the city’s main tourist attractions.
The event is inspired by the UFO phenomenon associated with Playa Miramar, a tradition that has become part of the cultural and tourism identity of southern Tamaulipas.
Aiming for Another Guinness World Record
The Marciano Fest has already achieved international recognition after the 2025 edition brought together 947 people dressed as extraterrestrials, achieving a Guinness World Record.
With the 2026 edition, Ciudad Madero wants to surpass that figure and establish a new record with an even larger gathering of people dressed as aliens.
The previous event combined the extraterrestrial theme with music, entertainment, activities and attractions on Playa Miramar, drawing visitors from different parts of the region.
Playa Miramar as an Extraterrestrial Destination
The festival is part of the strategy to promote Playa Miramar and Ciudad Madero as tourist destinations, taking advantage of the area’s long-standing association with UFO stories and alleged extraterrestrial sightings.
The destination has been compared with Roswell, New Mexico, because of the local belief that extraterrestrials have a special relationship with the coast of Ciudad Madero.
The festival seeks to turn that popular belief into a family-oriented tourism attraction, creating an event that combines local culture, entertainment and the beach.
An Event That Has Continued to Grow
The Marciano Fest has grown since its first editions, attracting increasingly large crowds.
The 2025 festival featured concerts, entertainment, themed activities and the attempt to break the Guinness record.
That edition culminated with 947 participants dressed as extraterrestrials, setting the record that organizers now want to surpass in 2026.
The new edition is therefore expected to become another major event on the tourism calendar for Ciudad Madero and southern Tamaulipas.
